Destiny 1 was meant to be a social shooter that required teamwork and ‘fireteams’ to complete. Yet they made almost no way for players to connect. No matchmaking… No clans… No help. They did, however, create these community Groups that were about as close to social as they could be without actually giving players any tools to use.
Before launch, these groups were becoming hubs for players to link up and prepare to play together. Blue Collar Guardians began as one of these groups with the standard of its members being mature, helpful, and putting real life first. The concept was a smashing hit. and by launch, over 1,000 unique players had joined.
